3월 8일 세계 여성의 날, 뉴저지 위안부 기림비 방문.

2025년 3월 8일 세계 여성의 날을 맞아 한중미사랑협회 회원들과 시민참여센터 이사님들이 함께 뉴저지에 위치한 위안부 기림비를 방문하였습니다. 이번 방문은 일제강점기 당시 강제로 끌려가 성노예로 희생된 아시아 여성들을 추모하고, 그들의 고통과 희생을 기억하기 위해 마련되었습니다. 참석자들은 희생자들의 아픔을 되새기며 역사적 진실을 기억하고 알리는 것의 중요성을 다시 한 번 확인했으며, 여성 인권 신장과 정의 실현을 위해 지속적으로 노력하겠다는 뜻을 함께 나누는 의미 있는 시간을 보냈습니다.

On March 8, 2025, in observance of International Women’s Day, members of the Korean Chinese American Council and representatives from the Korean American Civic Empowerment visited the Comfort Women Memorial in New Jersey. The visit was held to honor and remember the Asian women who were forcibly taken and subjected to sexual slavery during the period of Japanese colonial rule. Participants reflected on the victims’ suffering, reaffirmed the importance of preserving historical truth, and renewed their commitment to advancing women’s rights and dignity.
